Rs. 10 Crore Reward For Indian Cricket Team by Sharad Pawar

BCCI president Sharad Pawar on Tuesday announced a cash reward of Rs 10 crore for the Indian cricket team that won the ODI tri-series in Australia for the first time.

He also announced a prize money of Rs 1 crore to the selection committee of the Under-19 winning squad as well as the selection committee of the senior Indian team at a function organised to felicitate the world champion junior team here.

BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah says Indian fans are savouring the win over the world's best team.

"It is every cricketers dream that they want to beat Australia, In any sport any team who beats the best team is the best feeling"
Mr Shah said.

India Wins Commonwealth Series 2008 Beating Australia by 9 Runs in the 2nd Final

India did it !! and did it in style. India has won the Commonwealth Series 2008 beating Australia in the two consecutive finals on their own ground. In the first final we won by 6 wickets and in the secondy by 9 runs.

Again Sachin's knock of 91 helped India to score 258 runs to which Indian bowlers, specially Praveen Kumar who took 4 wickets, managed to stop the champion Australian for 249 runs leading to a historical win.

Once again Harbhajan Singh took the wicket of his fellow friend Andrew Symonds and in the same over Mathew Hayden got run which proved to be turning point of the game.

Praveen Kumar was declared Man of the Match and Nathan Bracken got player of the series award.

This is really a moment of joy...I am going to celebrate and will be back soon with more updates on this.S

India Beats Australia by 6 Wickets in the 1st ODI Final at Sydney

India defeated Australia in first final at Sydney in 46th over with six wickets and 20 balls to spare. Dhoni scored winning shot to fence 15 runs in 12 balls took India’s score to 242 runs for the loss of four wickets.

Harbhajan Singh got his revenge on top-scorer Matthew Hayden (82) for his "little obnoxious weed" radio comment by dismissing both him and his great mate Andrew Symonds (31) to restrict Australia to 8-239.

Then Sachin Tendulkar, in his farewell appearance at the SCG, scored his first one-day century on Australian soil.

India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh won the latest round of his feud with Australia's cricketers when he captured the vital wickets of Matthew Hayden and Andrew Symonds in Sunday's first tri-series final in Sydney.
